Movie Poster: Cape Fear
The film poster that I'm analyzing is Cape Fear. This is a 1991 psychological thriller directed by Martin Scorsese and is a remake of a film with the same name which was made in 1962.
The first thing that I noticed about the posters are the eyes looking through the middle... The shows a sense of someone watching you at all times. I have not watched the film but from this it gives me a clear idea that someone might watch another character throughout the film.
The second thing I noticed was the (possible) family of three in the centre. This shows that it is likely for there to be a family in the film which are the main characters which could be being watched by the person mentioned in the first paragraph.
The third thing I noticed was the lightning in the background. This can show a clear sign that this film is a horror or something along those lines. Also the colours used (black and dark skies) also reiterates the sense of this film being a horror.
Good start, Jack good interpretation of the colours used and why the eyes are so prominent. However, there is a lot more detail you could have focused on.
ReplyDeleteWhy is a woman smoking in the poster - what does this suggest about her character?
What can we deduce about the man in terms of how he is standing in relation to the women?
Make sure to go into as much detail as possible when analysing.
